1997 Town and Country remote not working.

Hello, I just purchased a 1997 Chrysler Town and Country with the 3.8l and it came with one key and remote. I took the remote to AutoZone and they checked it and said it was working however it does not work. I followed the instructions in the owners manual to 'reprogram' it but it still does not work. Any help would be much appreciated!
