I just bought a 2012 caravan and put about a 1000 miles. I noticed that there's a slight pull to the right and steering is hard to keep it straight. Brought it back to the the dealer to have it checked but mechanic said it is normal for new vehicles to do that because it's design to do that so you don't in case driver fall asleep. I thought that was bull. Can anyone please enlighten me regarding this problem.

 

It should pull very slightly to the right.
If you let go of the wheel on a straight section of road you should be able to go a fair distance before you have to correct the steering this all depends on the crown of the road and no wind pushing you to either side of the road.
Try another van and see if it is the same as your on the same stretch of road.
You should be able to get the dealer to put the van on an alignment rack and have them make sure that it is within spec.

 

It depends, there are acceptable pull,(due to road crown) there are unacceptable pull.

It could be a tire pull, do a tire rotation, swap left and right front tire.
If not, you have to align the car. Make ur dealer check your alignment, you just bought a brand new car from them, they should take care of thi problem. Chrysler should cover Alignment for 1yr/12,000 miles.
