Default p0205 p0305 help 98 caravan 3.0

i have a 98 caravan 3.0 that has p0205 p0305 codes i know the two are related i have replaced the number 5 injector and there is no signs of the harness being melted or messed up in any way but im still having the same codes and the same problems with the van ie. hessitation at take off/ low rpms it runs fine when its cold but when it warms up is when its problematic here is a list of what i have replaced on it in the last couple weeks granted some of these have nothing to.do with the problem plugs, wires, cap, rotor, pvc, fuel pump, fuel filter, number 5 injector anyone with any suggestions please help..

Symptom:
P-0205 INJECTOR #5 CONTROL CIRCUIT
When Monitored and Set Condition:
P-0205 INJECTOR #5 CONTROL CIRCUIT
When Monitored: With battery voltage greater than 12 volts, the auto shutdown relay
energized, injector pulse width less than 10ms, and engine speed less than 3000 rpm.
Set Condition: This trouble code takes .64 to 10.0 seconds to set when no inductive kick
is sensed .18ms after injector turn off, and with no other injectors on.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
ASD RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
INJECTOR #5 DEFECTIVE
INJECTOR #5 DEFECTIVE

INJ #5 CONTROL CIRCUIT WIRING HARN (ENGINE ON)
INJ #5 CONTROL CIRCUIT WIRING HARN (ENGINE ON)
INJECTOR #5 DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
INJECTOR #5 DRIVER CIRCUIT OPEN
INJECTOR #5 DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
INJECTOR #5 DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GND
INJECTOR #5 DRIVER CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
277 Ignition Off
Start engine, let idle for at least 20 seconds.
Key on, engine off.
With the DRB, read Trouble Codes.
Does the DRB show 9Injector #5 Control Circuit9 with a start run count of zero?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 278
No Go To 289
278 Ignition Off
Disconnect the Injector Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Use an ohmmeter in the following step.
Measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit to the ASD Relay Output.
Is the resistance between 10.0 and 16.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 279
No Go To 284
279 Ignition Off
Disconnect the Injector Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Repair the Injector #5 Driver Circuit for a short to ground.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Go To 280
280 Ignition Off
Disconnect the Injector Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Key on.
With the DRB, actuate the Auto Shutdown Relay.
Using a Voltmeter, measure the ASD Relay Output Circuit.
Does the voltage cycle high and low?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 281
No Repair the open ASD Relay Output Circuit.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
281 Ignition Off
Disconnect the Injector Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Use an ohmmeter in the following step.
Measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit from the PCM to the Harness Connector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 282
No Repair the open Injector #5 Driver Circuit.
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
282 Ignition Off
Disconnect the Injector Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Repair the Injector #5 Driver Circuit for a short to ground.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Go To 283
283 If there are no potential causes remaining, the Powertrain Control Module is
assumed to be defective.
View repair options.
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Repair
Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
284 Ignition Off
Note: It may be necessary to remove the Intake Plenum in the following
steps.
Disconnect the Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Key on.
With the DRB, actuate the Auto Shutdown Relay.
Using a Voltmeter, measure the ASD Relay Output.
Does the voltage cycle high and low?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 285
No Repair the open ASD Relay Output Circuit.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
285 Ignition Off
Note: It may be necessary to remove the Intake Plenum in the following
step. Refer to the Service Manual for removal instructions.
Disconnect the Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Use an Ohmmeter in the following step.
Measure the resistance of Injector #5.
Is the resistance between 10.0 and 16.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 286
No Replace the Fuel Injector.
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
286 Ignition Off
Note: It may be necessary to remove the Intake Plenum in the following
steps.
Disconnect the Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Disconnect the Injector Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit from the Harness to the
Injector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Go To 287
No Repair the open Injector #5 Driver Circuit.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
287 Ignition Off
Note: It may be necessary to remove the Intake Plenum in the following
step. Refer to the Service Manual for removal instructions.
Disconnect the Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Disconnect the Injector #5 Harness Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit to ground (Injector side).
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Repair the Injector #5 Driver Circuit for a short to ground.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Go To 288
288 If there are no potential causes remaining, the Powertrain Control Module is
assumed to be defective.
View repair options.
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Repair
Replace the Powertrain Control Module.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
289 Ignition Off
Using the schematic as a guide, inspect the Wiring and Connectors.
Were any problems found?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Repair as necessary.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Go To 290
290 Engine Running
Wiggle Wiring Harness from the Injector to the PCM.
Does the engine miss or stall?
ENGINE - 3.0L V6
Yes Repair as necessary where wiggling caused the problem to
appear.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Test Complete.
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
291 Ignition Off
Start engine, let idle for at least 20 seconds.
Key on, engine off.
With the DRB, read Trouble Codes.
Does the DRB show 9Injector #5 Control Circuit9 with a start run count of zero?
ENGINE - 3.3L V6
and/or ENGINE -
3.8L V6 and/or ENGINE

Yes Go To 292
No Go To 297
292 Ignition Off

Yes Go To 293
No Repair the open ASD Relay Output Circuit.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
293 Ignition Off
Disconnect Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure resistance of Injector #5.
Is the resistance between 10.0 and 16.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.3L V6
and/or ENGINE -
3.8L V6 and/or ENGINE
- 3.3L V6
FFV
Yes Go To 294
No Replace the Fuel Injector.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
294 Ignition Off
Disconnect Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit from the PCM to the
Injector.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.3L V6
and/or ENGINE -
3.8L V6 and/or ENGINE
- 3.3L V6
FFV
Yes Go To 295
No Repair the open Injector #5 Driver Circuit.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
295 Ignition Off
Disconnect Injector #5 Connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Disconnect the Powertrain Control Module.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Using an Ohmmeter, measure the Injector #5 Driver Circuit to ground.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
ENGINE - 3.3L V6
and/or ENGINE -
3.8L V6 and/or ENGINE
- 3.3L V6
FFV
Yes Repair the Injector #5 Driver Circuit for a short to ground.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Go To 296
TEST ACTION APPLICABILITY
296 If there are no potential causes remaining, the PCM is assumed to be defective.
View repair options.
ENGINE - 3.3L V6
and/or ENGINE -
3.8L V6 and/or ENGINE
- 3.3L V6
FFV
Repair
Replace the PCM.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
297 Ignition Off
Using the schematic as a guide, inspect the Wiring and Connectors.
Were any problems found?
ENGINE - 3.3L V6
and/or ENGINE -
3.8L V6 and/or ENGINE
- 3.3L V6
FFV
Yes Repair as necessary.
Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Go To 298
298 Engine Running

Yes Repair as necessary where wiggling caused the problem to

Perform Powertrain Verification Test VER-5A.
No Test Complete.
