Default cleaning engine

I have some oil stains on the main intake plastic. I have dirt sand in other areas. can I use any of those store engine cleaners. cover up say the battery. the fuse box. the alternator. then spray chemical. leave 15mins. then rinse off with just a hose. no pressure washer? and then blow out with air and let dry?

Blow out the loose stuff with air first, then do the wet cleaning.

Dry it by idling it and burning/vaporizing it all off.

Don't hose down a hot engine with cold water.
