My neighbor's 2005 T&C recently had the P0406 EGR code (sensor A circuit high). The vehicle has 130,000 miles on it, so we just changed the EGR valve. We did the drive cycle and it passed emissions just fine.

Here we are a week later, and the code has come back. What else can we check to get rid of this code?? The ECM was replaced on this vehicle within the last 6 months.

Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

 

For the '05 there are 2 EGR valves, depending on vehicle manufacture date (but referred to as the XZZ option). Were you aware of that, and did you get the right part? If not, call a dealer and ask if your van has XZZ - you will need to give them the last part of the VIN.
That being said, I don't know if the wrong EGR will continue to set that same code.
