Default 1999 Dodge Caravan Radiator Replacement - Condenser gone WILD

I am trying to replace the radiator on my 1999 Dodge Caravan. I attempted to remove the condenser lines and a lot of green fluid came out under high pressure. I attempted to remove the bolt attached to the top of the condenser on the tube.

Is there a valve I am supposed to close before changing the radiator?

You needed to evacuate the freon first. That sounds like the oil that is in the AC system for the compressor.

It was indeed the compressor. I ended up over tightening the valve on the manifold and had to replace the entire top ($10 from a junk yard).

About 3 weeks later, the new radiator aquirred a hole. I was able to avoid evacuating all of the freon by removing the coolant radiator without removing the oil and freon radiators.
