Are you saying that the van had always been shifting perfectly all the time, then you hit the puddle, and 2 days later the downshift jerking started? If so, I can't make a connection between those 2 things. How many miles on it? Any towing or mountain driving? Have you ever put transmission additives in, used any fluid other than ATF+4, or had a power flush done. Any drips from underneath, and have you checked the fluid level and quality?

how big was this puddle? Have you checked the fluid since to make sure it wasn't contaminated with water?

honestly 2 in. of water isnt really that significant. The issue starting after the puddle may be a coincidence. If it happened right after the water then maybe, but 2 days later, I'm not entirely sure it's related.

I've read a few different accounts of "jerking" in the 4 gens, mainly during downshifting. But most of those were describing a chronic condiditon, and none of them mentioned a specific event causing it to begin. I remember some of these guys doing LOTS of things trying to fix it, including one guy who installed a new tranmission (with no success). So IDK how much you're going to be able to do about this. But if the water splashing around really did cause it, then I think it could only be electrical in nature. The things that come to mind are the input/output sensor and solenoid connections. Can't tell you why or how water could get into one of those units, but likely could cause a problem like this if it did.

Ok even if its not the water that caused this and it is a coincidence What else would do this? I saw 1 person who changed the whole module but it it came back a week later I just dont get how this randomly started happening it only has 80,000 miles on it.I just dont want to damage the transmission if it is going to keep doing this.
