HI,
I have a 2009 Caravan. I purchased it last week used. There are few things that need fixing. Not that many. Recently an airbag light has appeared. I searched this forum as well as the web and found no definitive answer. Can anybody help?
Thanks,
Kevin

You'll have a path to follow if you get the SRS/airbag system codes read. It should tell which of the 8 or so components have a problem or at least the portion of the circuit that's involved. Most parts stores will read powertrain codes for you but usually don't have scanners capable of reading these codes. A well equipped shop or the dealer will. You could always buy one for $100+.

You need to get the code read. Usually only a dealer can do this, unless, like stated, you buy one for yourself. It is different from a normal OBD code reader. very expensive.

Ok,
I also need to get an extra key or two. I think a dealer has to program the key as well. I see the keys online for sale. It might be cheaper online than at a dealer. Can I buy it online then have a dealer program it?
Thanks

Yes you can buy online and have the dealer cut and program it.

You can also program the key yourself IF you have two working copies. I can't remember the exact procedure, but it's listed somewhere on this forum.
