Power Door Lock Freaking OUT?
2013 Grand Caravan RT - about 6 months ago the front passenger side Power Door Lock occasionally started freaking out when you unlock it. Basically when you hit the unlock button on the key fob the power door lock stem would jump up & down for like a few seconds at a time. Took to dealer for service but they can't recreate the issue thus no fix can be done. This situation would occasionally occur when you unlock or lock the car. Wondering if anyone experienced this and if they were able to isolate the problem & fix. Thanks

It happens every so often, no specific condition. I would say often it would happen in the morning when the vehicle is cold & been sitting overnight.
I did take a video of the door lock stem going up & down if that will help diagnose the issue? The dealer used OBD but there was no fault codes. Last Friday, it happened continuously for a period of over 30 minutes, I would hit unlock on the key fob, it freaks out and stopped without completing the command. Waited a bit hit the fob again same thing happens, eventually I used the key to opened the driver side door. Test again using the interior unlock button, same freak out. I gave up and left the vehicle, called my dealer & made an appointment for May 24th. Then I came back on Sunday, hit the key fob & the power locks are working normal! Pissed me right off. If you want to see the 6 sec video, I can e-mail or text to you. Thanks in advance.

I, personally, wouldn't be able to assist with the technical side of things/diagnostics, as we rely on our dealership service teams for that, but you're still more than welcome to send me the video. If you shoot me a PM I can provide my email address. This certainly sounds like a strange concern, and it's good that you have an appointment scheduled for the 24th. Hopefully they are able to duplicate and diagnose it at that point. Definitely be sure to show them the video. It also may be worth letting them keep overnight to try to replicate when the vehicle is cold, but I know that may not be possible depending on your transportation circumstances.
