Default Check engine codes p0700 and p0765

My 06 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT is in transmission limp mode. It stays in 2nd gear. It's giving me the p0700 and the one for trans solenoid D. I forget the number code. I'm doing the install myself.

Which brand of transmission shift solenoid is best to buy? I see Borg Warner, Dorman, Airtex, ATP, ProKing, Mopar, etc...

I'm on a budget, but I don't want a junk part either.

I did the install with a Duralast brand solenoid made by Wells. I fully flushed the transmission with Castrol ATF+4.

I still have the code. p0700 and p0765.

What else causes these codes? Could the solenoid I installed be bad? Is that common?

Did you check the transmission control relay and fuse !5? If they're ok, then try a continuity test of the solenoid wires from the connector, to the PCM.

There isn't a transmission control relay in the ipm fuse panel under the hood. The only fuse is a transmission battery fuse. The owners manual lists only this one fuse panel. Some vehicles have another inside the cabin but I don't see one.

I'm working on the continuity test now.

Does anyone have a pin diagram for the computer connector on this van? There is about 20 different pins and I don't know which ones go where.

I found the relay you were talking about cv2003. This is a great diy video that shows how to diagnose the transmission relay. I will go over the relay again with the info I found in the video.

The relay and fuse check good.

The wiring connectors have continuity from the solenoid to the pcm.

I checked for resistance to ground for the whole solenoid circuit per the flowchart that mastertech gave me and I get 1.8 ohms which is less than the 5 ohms that the test requires to pass. That suggests that I have a short to ground.

The weird thing is I have no blown fuses in the system like I would expect with a short to ground. That makes me wonder if it's actually a short to voltage because I also get 12 volts from the battery switched side of the transmission relay to the solenoid power wire when the ignition is switched on but not running.

I'm confused. Which is the problem?

8 Turn the ignition off to the lock position.
Disconnect the TCM harness connector.
Disconnect the Transmission Solenoid/Pressure Switch Assembly harness connector.
Note: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Measure the resistance between ground and the UD Solenoid Control circuit.
Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
All
Yes ! Repair the UD Solenoid Control circuit for a short to ground.
Perform 41TE TRANSMISSION VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1.
No ! Go To 9

This is part of the flow chart I received from mastertech. I should disconnect the connectors one at a time and check for resistance, right? If I disconnect both the pcm connector AND the solenoid connector at the same time then I will have an open circuit and I can't check resistance to ground. I'm understanding this correctly, yes?

I took it to the dealer. I can't make heads or tails out of the electrical troubleshooting.
