wish wash function dodge caravan 1996
good morning
we have a dodge grand caravan car
Dodge Grand Caravan 12/1995 3,3ltr
VIN: 1B4GP54R9TB296335
and currently the problem that the wish wash function is only enabled for
the fastest mode. not for the slow mode (sry for my poor english)
i have already checked the relais, it s clicking in every switch position.
So I asume the relais will get the signal, also the switch is getting the signal
direction the relais.
Do you now what I could do / check next - maybe there is more between the relais
and the switch. How could I check the motor, maybe thats the problem.
thx in advance, stephan

Your post is a bit confusing so lets clarify it.
> Your front windshield washer is not working correctly - is that correct?
> 12/1995 is the date of manufacture - correct?
> relais means relays - correct? Looking at a wire diagram for the system (1996), there is no relay. The Body Control Module (BCM) controls switching.
> Not sure what fast mode and slow mode means relative to the washer. Does that mean when the wiper speed is set to fast, the washer works but does not work when wiper speed is set to slow?
You have a Euro Caravan correct? My US specification wire diagrams may or may not match what is on your van. If you would like the diagrams send me an email address to send them to in a private message. How? Click Cougar41 at left.
I took 3 years of German in high school decades ago. Today, I know a few words but can barely put a sentence together. Your English is far better than my German.

Dear Kent and Cougar41 ... thx for your answers.
I am sorry for my mindless written text when I opened the thread.
And thank you for your work cougar to make it more clear in english.
Yes it is: date of manufacturing is 12/1995 and the front windshield washer is not working correctly. And the washer does not work when wiper speed is set to slow. I asume I have got the US version of the dodge grand caravan.
But - I think I have two relays ...
I will attach two pictures from a german crack mechanic ...
(maybe (t)here is an other user with the same problem)
One of the relays will switch the wiper ON and the other will switch between LOW and HIGH. Isnt it?
Thx and I will write a pm. Stephan

Ok, windshield washer it is. Unfortunately, I've never heard of a washer problem related to wiper speed. That makes me think the system on your van is different from US spec vans. The usual problem is the washer doesn't work at all. In your case I can only guess at the problem. Hopefully, someone else on the forum has seen this and can help you.
Yes, the 2 wiper relays control wiper operation either providing power or reversing wiper direction. I don't see a connection to the washer other than the wiper switch on the multi-function switch sets the ground to the wiper high/low relay coil and the washer circuit is connected in parallel to that circuit. My logic is telling me the wipers are working at all speeds so the washer should work at all speeds. One thing you could try is disconnect the wiper switch connector and using an ohmmeter check for continuity at all the switch speed contacts with the washer switch turned on (reference the wire diagram). If you don't see continuity (no or very low resistance) then the switch looks like the problem. Keep us updated.
Are all the front wiper/washer functions controlled by switches on the multifunction switch on the turn signal stalk (lever) on the control column? You have a left hand drive van correct, unlike your British neighbors across the channel and their right hand drive vans.

Success! Glad to hear it.
A question and nothing to do with cars.
If someone is coming to visit Germany what would be the two or three places they just have to see? I visited Garmisch years ago. Gorgeous. My daughter may be living in Stuttgart in the near future.
