Default Recall - Ignition Switch replaced - now the ESP light is on :(

Hi Hi...

I have a 2008 Dodge Caravan 3.8 lt. 6 speed Auto.

Ive been very happy with the van we use it for multiple purposes but now its time to sell because we need to tow a large trailer.

So Im getting ready for sale and recieved a recall for the ignition switch. So I take it to the local dodge dealer and ask him to preform this recall service.

After getting in the car at the dealer after starting the car i noticed the ESP traction control lights where on. I go back in and notify the Meister mechanic and he says he had no authorization from me to fix this ... I said huuuuuuuhhhhhh.... There wasnt any lights on before you fixed the ignition switch and I have a picture to proove it... so he comes back with a picture he took with the lights on .. hmmmmm could he have tooken the picture after the repair when they noticed they had a problem ... hmmmmm

I am forsure very disgusted !!!! They tell me its my problem and it costs about 500,- its the steering angle sensor!!!!

Please help !! Is it really my problem ?? Did they mess it up ???

thanks
Larry C.

Grrr. It's maddening I know. You say you have a picture to prove it? Does it show you at the dealership with a visible date say from a news paper and the instrument cluster? If not then you may be SOL.

Have you checked fuses? Might try removing the steering column covers and inspect the wiring. Hopefully the problem will jump at you. Disconnect negative battery cable first to prevent accidental airbag deployment.

Might contact DodgeCares on this forum via a private message. He/she appears to be a Dodge complaints specialist working for Mopar (???) Click social profiles here: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/members...odgecares.html
