Hi all:

I have a 1997 Dodge caravan, it has served us well with very few problems..
My inspection expires soon and the Backup light/ 'Reverse' light isnt working.
I got new bulbs and have checked/swaped the 10 amp fuse with no luck.
Can you guys suggest what else I can check.

Could be the body control module (turns the lights on if you have the 4 speed transmission), otherwise its the switch on the front of the transmission that is causing the problem (3 speed models). That switch is called the park/neutral switch, and it is just above the transmission oil pan, has a 3 wire connector on it.

 

Mine is a 4 speed, where is the Body control module located?

 

Ok, scratch that. I was thinking of something else. is there a backup lamp relay in the underhood fuse box or the fuse box under the dash?

 

I am able to read the fuse box map underhood..Dont have a diagram for the driver side fuse box..So cant tell if one of the relays are for the backup light.
