2002 dodge caravan 6cyl
out of the blue the van refuses to shift out of first gear.
so I checked trans fluid. good
I replaced input, output speed sensors.
but no speed changes.
i went to autozone and they suggest transmission speed range sensor.
they me a SU3146 part which I have to find on the vehicle.
This is my landlords vehicle, I can't seem to find any info on where to put this part. other than autozones rear end...
any help welcome..

Transmission Range Sensor is inside the transmission above the valve body. You have to drop the fluid pan and remove the valve body to get to it. Autozone? Really? You sure it's first gear? If it's in limp mode it won't shift past second. Check engine light? Do you have any codes? When was the last time the fluid and filter was changed? It could just as well be a shift solenoid pack bolted to the front of the tranny.
