Default '96 caravan start problems

I have a 96 caravan with a 3.0L engine. I have a code off and on "Auto Shutoff". Occasionally while driving I would have a stutter while driving down the highway but no other noticeable problems, I cleared the code and it has not re-occured. Now my problem is when I try to start it, it has nothing at all when I turn the key. The radio comes on, lights light up, but nothing else. I can short across the starter and it starts right up. Is there a relay or something between the key switch and the starter that may be out or what else could cause this? There still are no codes showing since I reset them.

Default RE: '96 caravan start problems

Possibly a bad ignition switch or bad wiring to the starter and ignition system.
