Default 1994 Dodge Grand Caravan - Keyless Entry

Hi - have a 1994 Caravan with keyless entry - I have talked to four different dealers and get a different answer each time.

I want to get a key fob for an extra set of keys (3rd set) for my son. Someone told me that you cannot have more than 2 remotes programmed at one time for some cars. One dealer said no problem, one said only two, one didn't seem to know and the other said they would try to see if it worked. Don't want to spend the $100 to buy a new remote to find out I can't use it.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks

You can only have two key fobs at a time in a 94 caravan. I have tried many times to program another and it doesnt work.

To concorde300m and studdly - thanks for your replies -

it is a factory installed system and I have come across the
service manual for my van and it says that you can only have
two remotes programmed for this year of system. I wish the
dealers would have taken the time to look at their manuals to
tell me that instead of leaving me hanging.

Again - thanks for the info.
