Default '05 Grand Caravan - radio stopped working - no fuse?

Hello all,

I am hoping someone out there can help.

While driving around today (after one of my stops), I noticed that the clock on the radio wasn't working. The radio wouldn't turn on. I had used the radio earlier in the day. Everything else in the car was working, so I thought it was odd. I went through the manual to figure out what fuse was linked to the radio, but according to the manual, there IS no fuse for the radio. I thought about disconnecting the battery and reconnecting, but I figured that wasn't wise (probably would break more things than fix). I was able to eject the CD in the CD player, and the tape in the tape player, so I know the radio is getting juice.

Anyone have any thoughts about the radio? I will bring it back to the dealer if I have to, but I'd like to see if I can fix it myself. I was going to just start yanking out and inspecting all fuses, but thought I'd try the web - and found your forum.

Anyone have any ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Chris

Hi people. I have the same problem with my GC 01. Would anyone have a fix for this problem without buying a new radio?

If the dome lights are working then my idea is no good. There is a fuse under the hood called the IOD fuse, check that. Also maybe the power outlet/cig lighter is messed up. Probably on the same circuit as the radio. Under the hood, its fuse #5 and #14.

I have an 05 caravan. My radio stopps working while driving. When it goes out, the instrument panel goes haywire. I suspect it wouldn't be an issue with the fuses so much as an issue with the wiring of the radio. I have the cd and tapedeck as well. I also have power on the radio to eject cd and tapes. It started out with just the radio.

Night, mine did that for about 2 weeks beofre the alternator died. Might want to get that tested before you get stranded.

Had issues with the instrument cluster and the radio operation was intermittant. After 3 days of tracing wires and using diagnostic instruments, the problem was found to be the A/C Fan (environmental) control cluster. After replacing this, everything started working again.
