Default Headlights

I bought a used 98 T&C a while back. I dont drive it often, the wife does. We went out tonight and it was raining and I noticed how bad the headlights suck. This is the first van Ive ever had. I drive home from work in the dark and the headlights on my other 2 cars seem to be a lot brighter than the ones on the van. They are aimed fine , they just dont seem bright enough. Do the bulbs get dimmer over time? They are both working. They look like the kind that reflect off of the back of the headlight assembly. Is that just the way this type of headlight is or is there something that can be done to make them better?

Did you turn them on or are the Daytime Running Lights on instead?DTR will give 1/2 the output of your high beams which is a lot less than low beam.

I have a '95 caravan and the headlight covers get dirty and dim the lights a lot.
I used this stuff called "Flitz" and it worked perfectly for about 5 months then they started getting dirty again, so I re-polished them and they're like new again.
I found the flitz at home depot.

i'd spray a thin sheen of clear coat after that, it'll seal it, i used polishing compound on mine then cleared it, they haven't dulled since, about 1 1/2 years ago

just that they are little dull inside....i'll mount my projectors soon...
