97 Dodge Caravan -- Powers off for no reason while driving

Guys I need help and advice on what to get checked out on my Dad's 1997 Dodge Caravan. The van literally powers off for no reason while driving. Almost got into an accident yesterday while driving on the Highway when it all of a sudden powered off. Have taken it to a Mechanic and they were unable to find any problems. Please help.... Thanks.
