Default timing belt slipped after replacement 6 mo ago

So I replaced the timing belt about6 months ago and no problems. But a few days ago it started running poorly and then would not start. Had gas and spark so I tore it back down and found the timing belt had slipped on the crank end (both cam sprockets are still synchronized but they are off from the crank). The belt is still in perfect condition and tension is still right. Has anyone had this happen or know of an explanation?
thanks in advance

did the water pump seize up? that will cause the belt to jump. Also if it jumped far enough, it may have bent the valves.

I replaced the water pump when I did the timing belt but I will check it in the morning to see if it is siezed up.
