Default I can't See!!!

Just wondering if anyone else is enjoying this same situation? From new, I've had my headlights adjusted as high as they can go, but I still cant see sh!t at night. I can drive around all night with the high beams on (nobody flashes me) and they still throw less light than any of my other cars on low beams. I guess it helps keep the speeds down.

Does your van have the plastic lenses? If so you need to have these buffed out to clear them up otherwise either change to lights to the old style glass lights or replace your lense covers, but these are not cheap.

yep my 99 has the same problem hate driving at night with it
wish it would have come with the quad headlight system instead of the singles might have been a better setup
i even swapped the bulbs for those new silver star headlights they are brighter but still not enough even with clear lenses

I've got the same problem, and I have the plastic lenses. Anyone know the best way to buff these back to clear?

Go to your local parts store and ask for "plastic polish". I think mine is Mequires brand. Works great.

The lenses on my ram were yellowing. Polished them up...clear as new.

By the way, Poor man's headlight buffer... duct tape a rag over the handle of a screwdriver and then put the bit portion into a cordless drill. Works great.

No, narrow, clear glass, seems like the hood design blocks the aim from going any higher.

Oh, I get what you're talking about now....if you shine lights on a wall or garage door you see a sharp horizontal cut-off line along the top. There are photometric deflectors inside the sealed assembly causing the cut-off. It's a safety thing to prevent blinding oncoming drivers.

Not much can be done, unless you can find an aftermarket headlight assembly that has different photometrics. Or, get a good set of aftermarket driving lights.

I just bought a pair of brand new aftermarket headlights from TAZCO AutoParts in Oshawa, ON. They are made by Eagle Lamps from Taiwan.

$141 CAD each, compared with $295 CAD from the Dealer.

I installed them last night and what a difference. I've never had lighting like that from day one. I own a '97 Caravan.

Sometimes cheap aftermarket bulbs can cause this proble. The placement of the filament in the bulb itself is critical for correct focus, and poor quality control can cause what you are running into.
