Rust Issues on 2003 Dodge Caravan

I have rust on the top part on both rear sliding doors on the top corner toward the front of the van. First off I just sanded down the affected areas and put touch up paint on to cover the bare metal. Does anybody think I should do more to repair the rust damage? Also does anybody else have this problem? I mean the rest of the vehicle has no rust and it is in a wierd spot. Anyway hope you guys will have some good insight.
