Chiltons/haynes no help. No reference on the knee cover inside to find the Fan Relay.
My 1997 3.3 radiator fan's are not coming on. Fans work when jumped. Temp sensor working. No codes on computer. Can't find the relay to check that (it is not in the block under the hood and there is no key or reference for the relays under the dash that I can find to identify it).
Any help would be appreciated and diagnostic suggestions would be great. I'm not worried about overheating as long as I don't let it curbside idle as I drive mostly above 45 mph for my driving. But it did overheat the other day when I had it curbside and the cooling fans did not come on.

the relay is under the hood under the air filter box mounted on the side of the frame with 2 8mm or 1/4 in screws. Parts will run u around 80 bucks or so.

Thanks a bunch. I never would have guessed that was a relay (kind of atypical in appearance) . And literally behind the air cleaner box. What a location ! Some engineer made a boat load of $$ placing it there...lol

Actually the air box can be lifted out after removing one 10mm bolt at the top. The 2 8mm bolts from the bottom just hold the bracket the air box rests on and are not necessary to remove. Swapped out the relay from my defunct 97GC and voila the fans came on when up to temp. What a relief before summer begins. BTW the relay is exasperating to rebolt on with really only enogh room for one arm down in there, but it can be done.

New userhere and just found this post. Same thing happened to my 97 Caravan 3.8. Crazy prices, now they are $90. A quick diagnosis revealed the same thing (fans work when jumped, fuse good, has power). The installation instructions were very confusing between the pre and post 99 versions and whether the relay should be relocated.
Wow cool stuff here, I have 2 vans with this same problem, I have found 4 relays are in cohoots with the radiator fan, one on the A/C circut, one High Speed ground relay, One High Speed positive relay, and one Low
Speed relay. None of these have fixed my problem yet. Thus I ended up here, searching for anything that could point to the actuall fan relay Switch, I know its there...but where? But I have read the switch is under the air box on 3 differents sites so now I will take the box out and look...just doesnt seem its there because I just tore the wiring harness out of one of the vans and rewired it and I don't recall anything being under the air box but...wires.

On the '97 it is just slightly above the bottom radiator hose mounted on the inside of the frame on the driverside. It is next to imposible to get to without taking stuff out to get to it.
