Question What gear?, Max Red Line?

Hi Folks
Just purchased a 2016 Challenger with scat-pack package and 8 speed automatic transmission and have two questions for all:
1. When using the automatic's paddle shifting in Drive Mode what gear do most of you use to do your around town driving in?
2. This thing shuts right down if you exceed 6000 rps when paddle shifting. I know this engine is capable of much more without damage. What software fix/tune is available to eliminate this 6000 max setting?

Thanks

I would assume the 6000 limit is there for a reason. Do you have valid information that the engine is capable of being rev'd higher without damage? Probably a tuner would have the capability of increasing the rev limit, but then you stand the risk of voiding your warranty if you blow up the engine.

It will live at higher rpm, say 6500, but it doesn't make any more power above 6000rpm. The camshaft profile probably makes peak power between 5500 and 5800rpm.
You can get a tuner such as a Diablosport iTune, and make many adjustments.
