the good news is the trans is working as designed. the trans has a skip shift solenoid to lockout to shifts into 2nd and 3rd during slow acceleration. the purpose is to improve fuel mileage. It can be turned off on later models but probably not a 2010. unplugging it may or may not set a dtc...all depends if its monitored by the pcm.
google it or read your owner manual for more information.

Hi srt8riding,

In the User Guide for your vehicle on page 22 it states: "MANUAL TRANSMISSION 1 TO 4 SKIP SHIFT
• Skip Shift is enabled when vehicle speed is between 19 MPH (30 km/h) and 21 MPH
(34 km/h) and the accelerator pedal is at 1/4 throttle or less.
• For optimal fuel economy, under low acceleration conditions, your vehicle will only
allow you to shift from first gear to fourth gear. Additionally, the skip shift message
will appear on the Electronic Vehicle Information Center.
• Refer to your Owner's Manual on the DVD for further information."

As the other poster mentioned, this may be what you are experiencing. If you need access to any of the guides or manuals that originally came with your vehicle, you can download them all from https://www.mopar.com/dodge/en-us/ca...ge-center.html
