boy i was sure rude, some of you guys on her are the biggest winers, I say like one thing, as u just did "Are you so smart now THE STUD" and you wine about me. hipocrits is a fitting name I think. If i swore at you or something, ok, but give me a break, have you ever been outside your home and interacted with people? I find it hard to believe that anything i replied to you about warents a butt long reply about random cars, an argument I dissolved like a week ago, read the posts buddy.
please don't go over this argument AGAIN, it's over, me and dartman had a fun time, but enough is enough already, quit beating the dead horse, and how were you helping me? my whole point bout the accord is that it isn't a full size, and got hardly better than the full size charger. That's the point i made weeks ago, and you don't address any other categories like trucks, suv's, i don't care bout little cars, move onto a different topic please, i'm tired of arguing this one, nothing will change, don't you agree?
and your argument doesn't even coincide with mine, it's like you went into neverneverland about mine. U mention facts about I4 engines and mitsubishi's and whatever, nothing I was even making a point about. What was it, an 8hp diference between the sky and mitsubishi? wow, amazing, not sure what mds has to do with my point either, it's like u read someone else's post after mine and got if mixed up, i simply compared gas mileage to show imports don't dominate every category, maybe 50-50. Not argue the trucks, and I'll wait to knock you down, or full size suv's, you know the important classes, little cars are for tiny people or tiny families in huge cities, i live in idaho, little cars are a death wish with all the big trucks. Or just give it a rest, as i have done. and what is it with everybody defending the rice? are there any true american fans left? don't understand. maybe there's some things that rice does on little 4cylinder engine that we might not. That's because detroit doesn't give a krap about 4cylinders, who should? their for economy, not for performance. Their what we put into our tiny krapper cars, it's what they put in like all their cars, with a top model being like a mid size v6, which we still don't care about. V6 is like a krappy american performance vehicle, while it's the rice's premier model. bla bla bla, now you got me arguing junk all over again....like i care bout being 'banned' oh no, I might ALMOST care.....to discuss about a car most here can't even afford

First of all, would you please add spaces between your lines once in a while. It is more difficult to read when you do that.

Now back to the subject, you implied that in practically all cases the Japanese do not offer better fuel mileage which is simply not true that is what I was disproving. Also before Dodge just added the MDS, the Nissan Titan did offer the best fuel economy mixed with power despite having shorter-gearing. I would offer you all the numbers but you would complain. If you want them I'll be happy to post them for you.

The gearing the Titan has combined between the transmission and the rear-axle in its normal setting is similar to the Ram's gearing if it had a 4.10 axle-ratio, the shortest the 1500 model has is 3.92. Also your source needs an update for hp number, because the true output of the Titan is 317hp & 385ft-lbs of tq. The Ram's is still at 345hp & 375ft-lbs of tq for the 5.7L HEMI. The Silverado 5.3L produces 315hp & 338ft-lbs of tq. You get the best mileage with the Silverado at the price of tq. When you compare trucks, torque is more important than hp. Besure to include that.

The reason why GM gets as good fuel mileage as they do with the latest models is the gearing as well. The Silverado offers a 3.42 axle ratio which is extremely tall with the gearing the transmission has. Also GM has added more tech to some of the engines including their Displacement-On-Demand and VVT systems. If the gearing was changed on the Titan, it would get amazing fuel mileage.

Remember not to give GM too much credit for their high economy numbers because this model has just been refreshed vs. Nissan hasn't had a whole refresh done yet on their full-sized trucks and SUVs.

Will the Titan and Tundra fall apart before the Ram, F-series, and GMT900s do. Definitely. The Big Three are still number one for a reason in this field. They have been doing it for many years and have more experience at it. The Titan is Nissan's first full-sized truck attempt and they did a pretty good job for a first try, unlike TOYota who is going to be on their third attempt.

As for you argument where you were comparing the Honda Pilot, an unnamed Toyota SUV, the Jeep Liberty, and Ford Escape. According to edmunds.com, the Liberty and Escape are compact SUVs and the Pilot is a mid-sized SUV. The Pilot has three rows of seating and the Liberty and Escape have two.

You can't compare them, they are too different, plus the Honda has a lot more hp in this case. Also you really shouldn't compare the Escape to the Liberty anyways. The Liberty is a true SUV and the Escape is a four conventional door minivan. Again I would bet my money on the Liberty lasting the longest since Jeep has a legendary reputation in SUVs.

Final point, these "Japanese" trucks are actually built in factories right here in the U.S. of A., as are many of the mid-sized cars.

so, THE STUD, I4 cars are not performance cars? have you ever heard of an SRT4? and as much as i hate tuner cars, my friend has a scion tc that hes fixing up (not ricing out thank god) and its already pretty fast. on a back highway one night he got up to 160 in it stock. now he has exhaust, intake, some other minor engine mods and is about to get a turbo installed. so tell me this isnt a performance car.

Well I am not really sure where the argument is, seems to me that american cars have made up the difference in recent years but the perception is our cars are somehow inferior which does mean lower resale/trade in value. The fact that most US car buyers are unaware that the quality is not necessarily better buying japanese and that by doing so they are aiding to the mass exodus of our dollars to foreign countries, deteriorating our production base and in effect reducing the upper middle class in america. Seems to me when our economic bubble finally bursts that will be a steep price to pay for better resale value on all that imported junk.

Kind of off the subject alittle, but still...... I live near scottsdale az. and last week the picture taker poles on the 101 north bound, clocked a guy going to work in a Hyunday 2 door at 147 mph !!! That's slightly uphill........Now, I've always....not liked those cars for some reason, but dog gone man, that's pretty good !! The picture and artical in the paper said it all, he kinda looked like Speed Racer !!!

My '01 Magnum 1500 4x4 gets @ 10.5 mpg pulling a work trailer, I can't complain about that because sometimes the mountains are just straight up to get to the house I have to work on....!!!

A friend of mine has an '03 Tiburon GT V6 with the 6 speed and it's pretty decent for a stock Hyundai. They are capable of around 135 MPH top speed, but there are a few superchargers available for them that could get them up to 147 MPH. Loaded they are more expensive than an SRT-4, not to mention if you slap a supercharger on one, and either way their still slower and you can pretty much throw the 10 yr/100K mile warranty out the window if you go forced induction on one.

Hyundai, yuck, probably one of the worst quality manufacturers out there. I have a friend who bought one, and replaced 5 ENGINES over that 100k warranty, I mean 1 can be a flook, but 5? yikes
