all you need to do is to do is remove one of the bottom bolts on the PTO cover, let the oil drain, put that bolt back in, then remove the oil fill and fill till the oil comes out.
you will need 8.5 pint of your favorate 75-90 GL-5 synthetic

BIG THANKS to David and the guy's at James O'neal Dodge.
YOU GUY'S ROC
Thanks Drew... I really don't know exactly what tranny I've got, but I'll look tomorrow. Sounds fairly straightforward. Any gasket or filter considerations? (Yes, I'm a noob when it comes to these big trucks!)
I see a bulk purchase of AMSOIL Severe Gear 75W-90 in my very near future... I'd be safe running it in both the differential and tranny, right? Their specs say it meets both GL-4 and GL-5 requirements.
Any advice on the transfer case? I've only had this thing for ~8k miles; got it from my father-in-law who bought it new. He took pretty good care of it, but I'd like to swap everything out with AMSOIL, plus then I'll be able to get on my own fluid change schedule.

Thank you to all of those who served:
All gave some, Some gave all.
I actually did both diff's yesterday along with the transfer case, with the transfer case open the bottom drain plug (torx bit) and let it flow, replace and open the top and fill till it overflows with ATF+4. 2 things, when you drain it you need a big pan because there is a cross member right underneath the plug and it splashes everywhere and gets all over the cross member, and 2nd, filling is a real pain. I used one of those funnels with a flexible tube where you can fill the funnel and twist it to drain into the tube. You have to fill the funnel and keep angling it to drain properly without spilling since there is not much room to the underside of the truck and the drain/fill plugs are on the backside of the transfer case. When I was finished my driveway looked like the cat peed all over it because there was oil dri everywhere to soak up the mess. Not a hard job though, took about 2.5 hoursfor all. Good luck!!

Thanks for the offer, but I did mine a little while ago when I out my shiny new Mag-Tec pans on. I have yet to get the front diff - that's next.
