I am collecting $25 - $50 donations to help pay for my entry fees and safety equipment upgrades for my 1959 vw baja in the AZ SAND FEST.

$125 donations get your name/ business decaled on the car for the races. The last race was televised!!!

what size engine you got in the back seat of that thing. . .my previous life I built a nasty 2100 for race purposes. borrowed a bug and tossed the engine in. . .dropped the tranny on the second run[:@]guess that what happens when you dyno 250hp and the same torque on an engine dyno.

also built a 1776 for a sand rail w/ 13:1 compression. had enough torque to turn the engine stand over on its side. we mounted it to the wall after that

at this moment the 59 has a loaner 1600 dual port stocker. I spun the rear main on my 2007cc last september. would like to rebuild it to a 2300+. its bored 20.5 with a 74 mm (?) stroke. made it a 2007 stroker. had dual kadron 40's on it till they went south.

the 59 has swing axle rear, king pin front (original), 3" body lift, 1973 buckets (high back), spare 1973 freeway flyer trans to sell in storage. I have to come up with a 4 point harness and helmet. engine rebuild would be nice, but ill run the loaner stock 1600 if I have to.

ya got any parts left to donate?

thats been years ago when I did that. . .it was fun and those engines were easy to work on. could pull the engine and have it completely torn apart in about 3 hrs.

Whereabouts do you live? I make it down to Yuma most every year around new years to go riding.
Is the sand fest just sand drags?
Anyway here is one of my toys I bought the truck to make trips to AZ better.

heck. . .I live clear on the other side of the nation in Georgia. we dont have many places like that to offroad. if anything we just redneck it and find a wet field and make our own mud pit
