Default Two stroke Oil ?

I have a question as to adding the two stroke oil to the fuel. Since I nought the truck I have been running a pint of two storke oil and the truck doesn't crank right over. My friend who has the same truck can start it in a few seconds where mine will crank over for an additional 10 seconds. I changed out the fuel filter and it solved the problem for a little while but it went back to the hard starts. I'm afraid during the winter that I am going to put alot of strees on the starter. any body have any issues running the two stroke oil?

I ran it for a week and had no problems. if you think that might be the culprit, why not try a different additive like lucas for a couple weeks, after two tanks change the filter to get all or atleast the majority of the two stroke out of the tank. 5-8 ounces of lucas per tanks hould be all you need.

You did not say what year truck you have so please fil in your sig file so we can better help you. Also 2 cycle oil does not always work in the newer engines but it does seem to work good in most pre 2004.5 engines. The last time I used it in my 06 my injectors didn't like it so I went back to using nothing but 6-8 oz of Lucas. But when I did use it I never had a problem with it starting nor have I heard of it doing so to any one else. Oh how much 2 cycle are you adding to your fuel? The most you need to add is 1 oz per gallon of diesel fuel and also make sure that its ashless & TCW-3 rated.

Drew,
I've seen you say several times to use ashless 2 stroke. I have looked at a few types of 2 stroke and can't ever find anything on the bottle that says anything about being ashless or not.
What brand do you use and how do know it's ashless?
