I had my 07 5.9 since May with 7500 miles on it with no problems. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Sometimes parts are put in thatdefective when it was manufactured. When they build these engines they grab (in your case) an injector and put it in not knowing it was a defective. Nobody's fault really but you were the unlucky one that got the defective part. Sorry it happened to you but you still have an awesome truck.

You should be able to do the key on trick to retrieve the code and see if the problem is something you actually need to go to the dealership for. Many times after 5 short trips the CEL will reset itself and not be a problem again. You just need to download the list of codes so you know what the truck is saying is wrong when it kicks a CEL.
There's a key on trick to get the code? How do I do this?

turn the key on and off three times without cranking the truck. It will give you the codes ( if any are set ) where the odometer is. Write them down and post them here. We can help figure out what they are.

the new ULSD is a part of the problem many believe it or not are having with injectors issues. The fuel system needs lubrication and a lot of that has been removed from the new fuel. I'm really surprized they haven't told you it's not covered under warranty becuase you used bad fuel. I've seen where many have been told that. There's even a TSB out from Cummins about what type of fuel you can use.

Luckily for you it sounds as though the dealer is taking care of your issues.... this time. You should read up on using 2 stroke oil in yoiur fuel fill ups. It's a great lubrication for the system. That or at least use some fuel additive every other fill up. It may help you to not have to be back at the dealer again real soon.

Bah, I wish I knew about that key trick before.

So Triton, let me get this straight, I can pour a quart of 2 stroke oil into the fuel tank when filling up with ULSD?? This is the first time I've owned a diesel, so the concept seems wierd. I just want to make absolutely sure before I **** my engine up.

As for fuel additives, any suggestions?

I thought the key trick didn't work on the 07's and you need to go to an auto store with a can type reader

Yes, you can just pour in 2 stroke. You can use either 16 or 32oz at a fill up. It will make the truck run smoother, idle better and likely increase the mpg's a little.

I would suggest ashless oil. It's a little more expensive but better for not building up to much soot deposits. You can get it at wally world.

that may be the case with the 6.7 which is considered a 07.5. This thread was asking about a 5.9L which is the 07
