Default Buying a 2012

I'm looking to sell my 2009 Hemi and buy a 2012 Cummins. Have a few questions.

Question 1: The truck I am going to buy has under 70k miles on it. I figure that is pretty reasonable mileage for a diesel. Does the factory warranty go with the truck no matter who is the owner, or is it gone once the original owner sells it?

Question 2: If the warranty is gone as I suspect it will be (I figure it is not transferable), i'm interested in doing some deletes to improve the fuel economy. I've read a bunch of conflicting stuff on deletes though, mainly that the EPA has cracked down on it, and you can't even get a tuner anymore that does the computer part you need when you disconnect the EGR and the DPF. Is this true?

Question 3: If the above is not true, can someone walk me through what I need to properly delete on a 2012 6.7 - and not affect the operation of the truck or throw codes. I'm not looking to make a hot rod out of this, just want it to still drive like a stock truck, but maybe get better gas mileage in the process. Don't want to hurt the turbo or anything else either.

Thanks

factory warranty will follow the truck...you are over mileage for factory coverage. If the owner has bought a extended warranty package...all depends on the conditions of the contract from the company who sold the package.

you do not have emissions testing in your area?

I thought the factory was 100k miles? What was it then? I did not purchase an extended warranty.

No, I do not have any emissions testing where I live.

Is the powertrain warranty transferable to a second owner? Would a delete void it?

Hi Silver-Dodge,
A great resource for warranty information is https://www.mopar.com/ramtrucks/en-u.../warranty.html with Powertrain warranty information beginning on page 9. You will also find more information about what is not covered under Powertrain warranty beginning on page 13. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
