OT: 2008 Show of Horse video

Here is the video from last week at the National Championships. Some of you wanted to see it.

I was also dissapointed that they announced that the year end point winner gets a new F150.It was funny when they announced it everyone grunted and boo'd beacuse an F150 won't pull any of the huge horse trailers that we use. Then they announced that you can trade it in on an F450 if you wanted to. Why not just give away a Dodge 3500 and be done with it?

Did you win?

If you miss a baloon the first time around, can you shoot at it again when you pass it?

How many other cowboys are there that run the course?

Do they pack all of the fans on one side only? It looks like the opposite side doesn't have anyone watching.

There are 5 balloons and 5 rounds in your gun. If you miss, you miss. Now, on stage #2 count the rounds that go off, only 4 went off. I got a dud round and it cost me getting back into the top 10 for the title run.

Everyone enters on that side so I guess they sit over there because it is closer.

HOLY CRAP you placed 2nd out of 50 entries ??? That's AWESOME !!

Is this your full time job? It sure does look like it take up a lot of time.

Do they provide you with the ammo, or do you use your own? I'd think that might be a way to potentially cheat.

Yeah, I noticed that you missed one in stage 2, and that's why I asked if you could re-shoot at it. I didn't realize that the gun only held 5 shots.

They provide the ammo. If you are caught using your own, you are disqualified. It is very easy to tell if you are not using the match supplied ammo, because it sounds different and produces a different amount of smoke.

I wish it paid enough to be my job but this sport is not big enough to pay well. You can tell by the big empty arena. They don't even charge admission and most of the people you saw in the audience on the Saturday Night Showcase, were the shooters that did not make it back in the top 10.

That sucks that they provide the ammo and yet YOU get disqualified for a dud. That BLOWS !!

What the sport need is more cowGIRLS, and THEN it'll take off !!

Theres a CAS club about 30 miles from meand that mounted shooting looks like it would be fun. However with my horses I'm thinking that second shot would be a long one..maybe not even horseback.

We have a lot of people that bring horses to the shoots and practices to see how they would handle the gun fire. I'm sure the CAS club wouldn't mid either. We always try to help the new guys get started because there is a lot to it when you are just starting out.
