so far just the one....next week for the other..Ive already PB Blasted the integral parts..and the warmer weather here should help a lot!!!the only issue I had was that there was not quite enough room to put both clips in on the axle shaft u joint..I shaved maybe a 16th off of it to make it just right...the precision u joints have a little plastic in em at the end to spread the grease evenly and that made them just a tad wider...it works great though.. no axle leaks here either!!

Great thread. I've been doing upper and lower ball joints, front u joints, tie rod ends and so on this past week on my 2005 2500 CTD. Being a plow truck is hard on parts and it was time to swap out some on this truck.
worked amazing and some of these ball joints are OEM and have been in the truck for 200 000kms.
Ended up going with OEM ball joints, all of the jobbers seem to be back ordered on Moog right now. Went to far as to drill, tap and install grease fittings on all 4 ball joints, a little grease every oil change certainly won't hurt.

Good job on the ball joints. I had to get mine chaged on the drivers side on my 2006 Dodge 1500 Mega Cab, the one problem I had with it was that they replaced the ball joints with new ones without the zerks on them. I would like to be able to get the new ball joints with zerks in them.
Drilling the OEM lowers it turns out didn't do me any favours. As soon as I put the drive axles back in and made one revolution the axle/u joint yoke sheared the top off of the grease fitting in the lower ball joints. Now I've had to put in new grease fittings, grease the lower ball joint, remove the grease fitting and thread in a small cap screw. Oh well at least some grease is getting in there. I think the Moogs have a different profile and allow a fitting to work on the lowers.
I live in eastern canada, any brands come to mind to replace the upper/lower ball joints along with the u-joint on my 2006 1500 series Dodge Megacab , and where may I be able to order these.
First of all I would like to say a word of thanks to: "Steve05ram360", ..Steve, this thread w/pics sure saved me alot of time and energy doing both my uppers and lowers on my recently purchased, '95 Dodge Ram Sport 1500-4x4 SLT Lariat. It's been like 15 years since I've had to do ball joints last, ...all I can say is... time sure makes you forget a lot! Worst part is...I'm a backyard mechanic,...just no ball joints have come my way. Also just finished doing rear brakes; shoes, springs, drums..all had to be replaced. Now the front rotors, pads and ball joints. They also called, (for safety), right tie rod, left outer tie rod end and windshield. **I know it sounds like alot,..but I have a '94 parts truck and I got the Sport for a steal...$1200 Canadian funds.** P.S. Fiddlerkelly: go to parts source or Canadian Tire and get some Moog's or OEM heavy duty premium Munro's.
