Help P0516 Batt temp sensor
2003 2500 diesel
Is all stock and has been very kind to me. The other day I got "CHECK GAUGES" light with a code p0516 (battery temp sensor low). Took it to dealer...was told diesel tech is 2 weeks out...........Diesel tech heard what was going on and was nice enough to scanned it. He reported everything was normal and cleared the code. Anyway a mile down the road and bing it was 0516. Question is does anyone know what causes this. I have 13.3 volts low and 14.8 volts max. Batteries out and cleaned. Grounds look great. Sensor reads from 20+/-komhs sitting on ice to low 8 komhs sitting in my hand. Short of shooting blind and replacing things or waiting two weeks I am at a lost. Any help would be appriciated.

Batt sensor
Sorry for the long delay. To make a long story short, I replaced the sensor only to have codes thrown again and again. My problem was happening when outside air temps were low so i wrapped the sensor in some "donk", insulation that is. The problem went away never to return????????? I really don't know if that was the true solution to the issue but it did work........hope this helps.
