Default silencing ring

I have an 2003 cummins and am trying to get the silencing ring out and the baffling. Does anyone know which way the arrows should go on the tube with the baffling. Also am having trouble getting the ring out.

the ring is pretty tightly packed in there, i just took mine out a few weeks ago and i had to play with a few diffrent flat heads for a little bit. keep tryin! now the baffles ive read about but not sure what they do. are they in the intake and what are the pro's of taking them out, just turbo noise?

The baffling is in the hard plastic tube on the intake tube itself. To get to it, just remove the softer tubes from that hard plastic. The baffling is inside there. Believe me, itsa pain to get out. Its just for more turbo noise. But there are arrows on the end of that hard tube. One end has one arrow and the other has two, im just trying to figure out which way those arrows are supposed to go.

The easiest way is to take a hacksaw and carefully cut the baffles out.
There is a decsription on how to disassemble the tube on here in an earlier post but the easiest would be cutting the baffles.
There is no performance increase doing this other than hearing the turbo whine more.

take a dremel and cut off the outer rim on both sides. . .then take a hammer and tap the baffel out.

mine came out within a month of me owning the truck. it will make the turbo scream

What about the vanes in the lower rubber tube? Can they come out?
I just took out the baffles in the middle tube AND the ones in the lower tube but haven't driven it yet.
Their absence wont hurt the turbo, will it?

I took my vanes out of the bottom tube when I replaced my tube. Works fine for me.I think when you have a free flow intake you dont really need em.
