Tell us about your first oil analysis. Are you going to do one at 5,000....7,500...?

Hey Mike, thanks! I plan on doing it at 7500... my one concern however is what you mentioned to me (in the PM IIRC).

one thing I noticed after taking it for a spin is the valve train noise is reduced. It is definately quieter.

Well the only thing I can say at this time is that the oil still looks black coming out of the return line... I have about 1700 miles on it since the install and am not sure what to expect. this weekend I'll dump some into a container and have a look... I'll post what I find.

I don't know if you will see much of an improved look to your oil but it sure will keep a lot of the impurities out of the system from what I have read up on the use of these things. Now if I can just save up the $$ to put one on my engine [sm=sigh.gif]

I read that it will turn the oil back to a golden brown color once it's clean.... I should be home by thursday... I'll have a closer look then.

Great write up! Thinking of doing the same (just waiting for that colour update) only one concern though, tucking the bypass filter on the frame. I drive alot of dirt/gravel roads, very afraid of a rock taking it out!(when roads are wet I do get alot of mud up there under the cab and frame)I did see somewhere that a fellow made up a bracket and installed the filter on the "intake arc"? looked good except getting at fuel filter is gonna be a bigger chore.
