I use a wrench that looks like a vice grip on steroids. Works great. That strap thing looks kinda cool though. What is the strap, velcro or something?
It's just a nylon strap that is pemanently attached (inserted through) the 1/2" drive metal bar. As you turn the metal bar in either direction, it tightens the strap down on whaterver you are moving and turns it by cinching down as the strap tightens around the bar.

Very easy and works great for all kinds of odd shaped crap.

It looks pretty cool. I'll hafta keep my eyes out for one.

Hey Hilo, do you see on the filter where it says to tighten 3/4 turn? That's what I was talking about.

I never needed a wrench to remove the filter, maybe be my over sized hands helps, and the last oil change I didn't fill the filter first as I was talking with my brother on the cell phone while doing the change and forgot, but the oil pressure was right up there on start.

I like doing my oil changes with no tools, flip of valve to drain, reach up and losen the oil filter, slip a bag over it to catch the oil when you tilt it to remove it
