Yeah, I agree. DB sucked Chryco dry and stole the next gen Viper and are now selling it as an MB, then dumped its corpse on the corporate parasites known as Cerberus. It is a miracle Chrysler is alive. But it's not because of bad product, it's because of bad executives. I still would pay to watch Bob Eaton die a slow, painful death. The frickin lime-squeezer sold out Chrysler in the first place. Damn I hate Bob Eaton.

Have to ask, You do ANY maintenance on your vehicles? I do, and can't see where you get off trashing the Neon and other Chry. My 03 neon is currently sitting at 257,011, and I would fire it up and drive from here to Cali. without a secont thought. Original untouched engine, not even head work, Dealer rebuilt trans, because my father's previous mechanic filled it with DEX 3 instead of +4 at 89,000 mi. 06 Caravan-205,000. 2000 Grand voyager-177,000, loaded with tools and equipment, and pulls a 12' enclosed trailer all of the time. 05 1500-172,000, Overloaded with tools and equipment and draws trailer duty any time that anything needs to be trailered. All are currently licenced and insured, and driven daily. Learn to take care of your S*it. The only 2 neons in my local scrap yard, by the way, are totaled beyond recognition.

I will replace the neon with a Dart, if they prove to be as reliable as my Neon.

If you are having problems with warranty work, may I suggest that you find a different dealer, The one I frequent is FANTASTIC. 5 corners Dodge in Cedarburg, WI Haven't found a better service Dept, yet.

A better service department is NOT going to fix your vehicle any better, its the so called idiots today that actually think they know how to fix vehicles today is the problem. Yes, i work on my own vehicles, recently retired after 30+ years of being a master tech in many dealerships. Nobody will ever change my mind that this new dodge dart is anything of a great vehicle, its just another cheaply made useless throwaway just like the rest of the 4cyl cars are out there today. If the PEON was such a great car, why has it been discontinued for quite some time. The PEON wasnt around long enough because they had way too many issues with them. They had ZERO trade in value as well. I know that for a fact, i use to work for dodge, no dealers wanted them on their lots. Ok, end of rant...lol

There are plenty of Neon's around here still trucking along. I see at least one a day somewhere on the road.
The Dart is going to be a good economy car that should sell well. The engines are an updated version of the tried and proven World Engine that have been pretty much trouble free. If you buy/bought a Hyundai and it's a 4 cyl, you got the same basic engine. It was a joint design with Chrysler, Hyundai and Mitsubishi.

Have to agree. I parked next to 2 other silver ones at Subway 2 days ago. I have one, the neighbors have a pair, at least 2 live on the next road over, because I see them all of the time, my aunt has one, and as far as no trade in value, that may be so, but resale value isn't bad. Currently, there is an 04, and an 05 with under 150,000 miles on them sitting on the lot 6 miles down the road from me, both priced at $6,995, and the other local Dodge dealer just moved one priced at $7995.00, think that was an 05 also. Mom paid less than that (sticker-$4,800, got it for $3,650) for an 06 caravan W/137,000 3 years ago. I just drove past a 99 or older that was really bad looking and rusted, that the inner city used car lot still wanted $2,100. I do plan on finding a 3 year old off lease Dart in a few years to replace the Neon, if the fuel mileage is OK- Just drove a 2010 Ram 4.7 auto 4x4-I was getting 22 MPG. If all of the Chry vehicles follow suit, they should sell quite well.

What gave Neon a bad name was the 95-98 models. I made almost my entire pay off Neons for the first 3 years....lol. But, you could fix them cheap and they weren't hard to fix.

I had the opportunity to look a Dart over this week. A pretty sweet little ride. Not cheapo either. Interior rivals anything i've ever seen. They will sell well. Yes, it is about the size of the last Neon, but it's not a Neon.
