Default Paint problems on New Dodge Dart

Hi everybody,

I picked up a Leftover 2013 Dodge Dart a few months ago (still only has 4000 miles) and have a problem with the paint on the passenger side front fender. I contacted my Dodge dealer who took pictures and sent them to Dodge to see if they would repair the paint as we seemed to think the paint was peeling. I know that I did not hit anything and have no idea when anything may have hit fender and see no paint streaks where a car my have hit me.

So in the end I am attaching some pics and wanted some opinions from you all as to whether you think the paint is peeling or it is damage of some sort?

Thanks for your voice.

Joe

Looks to me like you got hit by something. Judging by the fact that it looks slightly dented around the missing paint.

Looks like a keying (coin), just not hard enough to go deep... looks like it just took the clearcoat.

Agreed. Your car was keyed or something similar. I'm sorry, that is not a defect.

You might be able to buff it out with some rubbing compound like NO.7.
Then wax it to bring back the gloss.
