Exclamation New short block 2.5L ignition trouble

Okay, first off, this is for a 94 Shadow. It had a 2.2L in it that blew out the oil pan seal and then locked up #3 rod. I picked up a 2.5L short block from a friend that had just been rebuilt. Did the swap, everything went smooth. I go to start the car. All it does is turn over and over. I went through all the usual steps and discovered there was no injector pulse.First thing I did was test the wires from the comp. to the injector. They both had continuity and ohm'd just fine. I also have the req. fuel pressure. Just to fill in any questionable gaps. I am on a VERY tight budget, so I threw the cheapest thing at it first, the ASD relay. No luck. Okay, so next my friend had an extra HAL effects (pick-up coil) lying around. No dice. Next, I finally broke down and replaced the computer thinking that HAD to be the problem. Still, no luck. What are the odds that my friend sent a bad pick-up coil? I honestly find it hard to believe he would keep a bad one lying around. I am at a loss. Any help would be appreciated. And, by the way, of course the engine ran before the swap. And the battery is in great shape.

do you have spark? do you have a turbo motor? did you verify the distributor is turning?

sorry for the delay. things have been hectic. Yes I have spark, and the engine will run if i force feed fuel. I am getting 60psi of fuel to the injector. I am just not getting a 12v pulse to fire the injector.

Sounds like you missed hooking something up or maybe the HEP is bad.

The HEP can't be bad if he has spark.

Check fault codes: http://www.allpar.com/fix/codes/index.html

He never answered my question about if it was a turbo or not. If it was a turbo, darn right it could have spark with a bad HEP on the other pickup for injector sync.
