Default 1989 Dodge Daytona Shelby

HELP!!!! Looking for a computer for my 89 Shelby 2.5 turbo, automatic. Also looking for speedometer/odometer assembly. Having issues just like every one else. Put new gears in, worked for a bit, died again. Also broke off pointer when installing the gears. Doesn't help if the speedometer works but you still don't know how fast you are going. 30,000 mile car having stalling, stumbling, surging issues. Have put many new parts in it, still having issues. Has anyone else had this problem? Was told it could be the computer. Have done a tune up, distributor, some vacuum lines, speed sensor, still occasionally surges, but still stumbles and stalls.

I'd like to help, but have no computer for your car. Are you sure that is the problem? I have repaired many of these speedometers. They are the same as in Chrysler's TC by Maserati cars. The thing people miss when installing the gears is that often a broken tooth remains that will stop the new gear from moving past that point. Are you saying that you can not reinstall the speed indicator pointer on the shaft? Or is the shaft broken?

Default Help!

Thanks for your response. The pointer is broken. My husband was wondering if he could have missed a broken tooth when he was installing the gears. Could the fact that the odometer/speedometer not working be the cause of the stalling, stumbling, surging problem? I have replaced many parts in the car thinking it might have been the problem, but nothing has helped.

Default Speedometer/computor

Thanks for letting me know about all the parts you have. I am trying to find out which computer I need. Can you tell me how much you would want for a computer and speedo parts. Not sure exactly what I need but if you could give me an estimate it would be helpful. Thanks!

Dina, I tried calling you, but no success. Send me a private message if you still wish to speak with me.
