Default Transmission Problems????

I have a 2001 Durango R/T with AWD and the 5.9L. I bought it used a few weeks ago and it has 65000 miles on it. It is having some problems with the transmission. While in Overdrive (and only when in overdrive, independent of AWD, 4 Wheel hi, or lo) the transmission seems to be slipping a little. I can force a downshift and lock out overdrive for a few minutes and when I return to overdrive it will stop for a while. Sometimes for a few minutes or more. Seems random and only in overdrive. I suspect someone has towed something with it in overdrive and worn out the belts or something. I checked the fluid also, it was low and didn't have any ATF +4 to put in so I used some Type III just to get it on the dipstick! Where can I get the right fluid? Dodge? Any hints tips are appreciated. --Oh yea no warning lights or other problems whatsoever...

You need to get some type 7176 from the Dodge dealer, I would suggest servicing the trans and rechecking. If it still has problems in OD it's off to the trans shop.

Low fluid level could have caused your problem..... Get your trans FLUSHED so you have pure ATF4 in there before you head off to a trans shop.... Give me your VIN # and I can tell you if the trans has been worked on before!!!!
Actually I can give you a full service history and more with a Vin#

Here is my VIN 1B4HS28Z11F531702. Let me know what you find out. I'll be heading to the dealer tomorrow to get some fluid. Can any trans shop flush my trans or only the dealer or what? Thanks for the help.
