My car starts fine but after a 5 min drive "lets say " to the am/pm gas station less then a mile from my house i shut it off it sits 5 min or so then i go

to restart it and it wont start this has happened to me the last 6 times i have driven the car and the first 4 times i suspected it ran out of gas so

lucky me was already at the gas station i put more fuel in and that seemed to be the answer but as i payed attention to this i noticed first why

is it somehow always happening at the gas station and that made me realize
1. i am not getting a low fuel light on to warn me
2. i am not that lucky to only run out t the gas station
3. the weather has been cold lately
4 after 10 min it will restart and run fine
but the cold weather is the key factor i think but i don't know what it is affecting can someone please help my car is a 2002 dodge intrepid with

a 2.7 engine

 

Sounds like a cam or crank sensor is shutting it down when it gets hot. Depending on the severity of the sensor malfunction, you may or may not have a trouble code when it comes back to life. On one that old, I usually do them in pairs.
