2001 dodge intrepid 2.7. New Chain tensioner lasted 1 1/2 years and then lost o-ring and kept bumping against chain shoe and closed up and locked halfway closed.
Installed new one and in 3 days it did the same thing again, pushed out past the o-ring and will not pump up as it did the same thing , bumpimg and closing up and locking rachet.Does this mean the tensioner is bad and not holding the oil in it
