Default cooling fan not working

I have a 2009 dodge Journey 6 cylinder. The cooling fan is not working. The car is overheating. Cannot figure out what the problem is. Any advise?

First thing you want to do is don't work on the cooling fan with
the battery connected, having said that the first thing to do is
disconnect battery leave for 10-15 minutes reconnect this may be
all you need to do reset the TIPM.
If this doesn't work then it could be the fan itself.

Any Codes?
is coolant full?
did you check all fuse?
does Fan work when you turn on A/C? or does A/C work?
does it overheat even when you are driving? because normally once you go above 30MPH, you should no longer need the fan to work.
does it help if you blast your heater at full heat mode?

Yes filled coolant and checked fuses and relay. Checked the fan and the fan itself works when directly connected to the battery. There was a code IAT sensor high voltage I think. No fan does not work when you turn the a/c on. I will have to try to disconnect the battery.

A/C works but not to the full potential. It has been making noises and taking awhile to get cold and the air isn't really cold when sitting idle. So we were thinking there might be a leak or it needed charged.

The A/C will not work well if the fans do not turn on. IAT (I believe) is your Intake Air Temperature sensor. Get that fixed and then look at your cooling fans again.

How did you test the A/C Fan relay?

Disconnect the fan. Start the car and turn on the A/C. Test the voltage at the plug and verify you have voltage. Go back from there.

I don't really know my husband checked the relay. I think I am going to take it somewhere today to get looked at.
