Default No sound from radio on 2012 Dodge Journey

Just wondering if anyone else has ever had this issue. My wife just told me that all of the sudden the radio would come on but no sound. Even if she plugs in her iphone it still does not work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't say what make your DJ radio is, Alpine system had
a intermiitent problem with amp under the passengers seat.
Try disconnecting the car battery for 10 minutes to reset TIPM
(electrical distribution control) or removing radio fuse (in owners manual).

I had this same problem as well as my AM/FM not working right away in cold weather. My husband and I tried bigtsr's suggestion and it worked. My sound is back on as well as the AM/FM in the cold weather. Thank you for the fix! Now I don't have to deal with the hassle of taking it to the dealer. I hope the fix stays.

Thanks for reporting back that the reset worked.
Todays cars are as finiky as that tablet I bought
just a big computer that has wheels.

Aint that the truth. Disconnecting the battery on todays vehicles is known to cure all kinds of ills.

I was beginning to think I was going crazy with the AM/FM issue then the sound stopped. When I told my husband about the problems he acted as if I was crazy...like I didn't know how to use a stereo on a car that I've had for two years. Then I showed him all the forums and how much this has been an issue for the Journeys.

I bought my 2012 dodge journey brand new, and my radio stopped working today also I notice my clock gaining time for quite a while now, up until now, I would swear by this vehicle and planned on keeping it until it all together fell apart but honestly paying this much for a car only for it to start electrical problems 2 years after purchase has put a bad taste in my mouth.

The radio problem has been posted before and
it can be as simple a fix as pulling the fuse for a minute
or it might be it is in need of a reflash of software.
It depends also what radio you have installed.
The clocks also have been known for gaining time , my 2011
has done it from day one and as it does not annoy me I have
let it slide and reset it every so often , maybe check dealer
or Dodge.com to see if you have all updates done.

KristySchaffner,

I'm sorry to learn of your recent radio concern. Had you experienced any other radio issues prior to the recent failure?

Being a 2012, it is likely your warranty has not expired. Has your dealer had an opportunity to pinpoint the root cause for you?

Default ram 2011

Hey all my radio on my ram will always power on but often no sound out of speakers. Will replacing the head unit work or is this some other issue. When the sound works it will often make a loud popping noise and go off again. Thanks for any info
