Exclamation

There should be a fix for this by now. But on second thought, we've had cracked dashes since the 90's!

Default Frustrated with my 2010 dodge journey PERIOD

I have had my 2010 dodge journey since January of 2015. It has had random issues here and there but nothing as frustrating as the horn randomly honking! It started a couple months ago while I was driving and I would hear a slight honk. Thought I had unintentionally hit the horn at one point so I disregarded it. Then it kept happening. Took out fuses. Was told it might be my key fob so I replaced the battery. Didn't hear the random honking again for awhile. Then the last couple days it has done it again. This time, the honking lasts longer and it is always different. Sometimes it will sound like someone is laying on the horn the just random beeps. It is VERY frustrating. Took out fuses AGAIN because I don't want the embarrassment or to make my neighbors mad. Gonna try to see if dealership will do anything but am predicting a huge bill so unfortunately I will probably wait on that. The fact a ton of people are having this issue with the exact make, model, and year, why is there no recall???? Driving around with no horn makes me nervous!

Hi Danielle Christine,

I'm sorry to hear about the concerns you're having with your vehicle! If you end up visiting your local dealership I'd be happy to follow up with them for you. Just send a PM to our page with your VIN and contact information if that's the case!

I have been having this issue for over a year. It seemed to start after they replaced the ignition from the recall. I notice it most when it is very humid or raining. It does happen when I am driving as well. I also have had it sitting in my driveway going off in the middle of the night. I took it to dealership but they said they have to be able to recreate the issue to troubleshoot it and it does this randomly so they have no way to do so. Today I had company security from my work come in and tell me my horns been going on and off since this morning.

Default Horn issues

I have a 2009 Dodge Journey SXT also having horn problems . It just randomly honks it can be parked and it does it and then when ur driving it randomly will just go mental it's ridiculous and very embarrassing ... The horn is there for safety reasons so I don't see how there isn't a safety recall on this problem . Has anyone had a solution to this problem ? I have just taken the fuses out but having no horn is frustrating ..

Default Still no fix

i have taken to dealer service 5 times still honking 1st updated software then replaced TIPM then replaced with another TIPM. Then was fine for about mint started over again took back to dealer they checked everything and could not replicate the horn honking so it can't be fixed. Seems to happen to me about one or twice a month while driving. And sometimes does in garage. Don't know what else can be done. Every time it happens I cannot seem to get my phone in time to record

I have read on another forum that a non dodge dealer mechanic has found a solution and apparently the issue is the horn plate is warped and needs to be replaced ? It happens to a lot of dodge journeys since 2009 . I am yet to call and find out the costs though . But this lady had hers replaced and hasn't had a problem since .

Default 2010 Dodge Journey - Honking Issue

I am so guttered! I had bought vehicle in September 2016 and horn is going off like crazy while driving on the motorway and also in the driveway driving my neighbors crazy. I bought warranty on top of purchase price. I see there are lot of posts in regards to this issue. Whilst living Down Under, parts will be expensive argggghhhh. Hoping warranty covers this. Any details about this issue being fixed?

Default 2010 Dodge Journey honking issue

I have a 2010 Dodge Journey and i have had nothing but problems since I've had the vehicle! My main issue now us the random honking!! This has been going on for almost 2 years and nobody seems to know the problem? I recently had my clockspring replaced and got a new battery and it was quiet for a week but now its very frequent. It drives me crazy because i never know when its gonna go off. Somebody has to know some kind of answers! This is ridiculous fir this many people to have the same problem and nothing be done about it. I couldnt let my son take his driver's test because i had to pull the fuses so the horn wont go off. So how is this not a safety issue?
