Default 2010 journey 2.4L exhaust issue

My 2010 Journey 2.4L sounds like the muffler is going. Upon inspection, everything is intact, but the sound is coming from the center component which is internally breaking down. I am not sure if this component is the muffler or the resonator. It is shaped like a regular muffler and stamped 260635 & 95238 followed by 02 10. It is not a long cylindrical shape like the diagram shows. Can someone tell me if this is the resonator or the muffler? It is not the box shape with the tailpipe. This noisy component is after the cat convertor. Dealership only sells the complete exhaust assembly, and car part stores do not list anything for the 2.4L journey. Any ideas on what can be done to quiet this car down? If this is a resonator, will any "universal" resonator be suitable? **Note, the component I have is shaped like a regular muffler (after the cat), and not the cylindrical shape in the Chrysler parts diagram** Thanks

Resonator and any reputable muffler shop/chain should have the
inventory/know how to replace it.

Just take it to an exhaust shop as stated.

Cdn Tire garage and parts counter (computer system) has nothing listed to replace it with. Carquest & Walker Exhaust Systems also show nothing available. AutoZone US "part not yet available". Independent suggests to remove & straight pipe this area. I want this 2.4L car to be quiet as possible, so if it is the resonator, will a universal be suitable (if I can find one)? I would like to replace it myself, but having difficulty finding the proper replacement. Dealer wants $800+ for the assembly after the cat. Don't really want to take it to the chains unless I have to, based on past. Thanks

Independent muffler shop states this is common on the 2.4 journey. The upper seam on the center resonator rusts through. Suggested repair was to cut out the resonator & weld in a straight pipe. There is barely no difference in sound with or without this resonator.

I would go with that route either. Most people who loud like to a better and louder sound delete the resonator and get a aftermarket muffler, somewhat same on nice exhaust kit that gives a good drone.
