Default Roaring noise from rear end/check engine light

I have a 2012 dodge journey awd. In the last two months, there has been a roaring noise coming from the rear end. The faster your speed, the louder the roar. Also, for several months, the check engine light comes on with every other fill up. It stays on a couple of days and goes off. I take the vehicle in for regular, on time oil changes and checks. They found a leak on the differential and the dealership repaired (2 years ago). What do i need to be looking for?

Moved rom the Ram section to the Journey section.

Rear diff fluid check and/or rear wheel bearings. Can't tell you anything about the check engine light until you get the code read and post it here.

Hi Cricket1963,

If this is something you're considering addressing with your dealership, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for additional follow up and support while your vehicle is being diagnosed.
