Default 2017 Dodge Journey GT Strange Noise

Just picked this up yesterday brand new for my parents. I was about 138 miles away from the dealer on my way home and when on an incline between 2k and 3k RPM's and around 52MPH it almost sounds like the traction control is activating or something. You don't feel anything like the motor cutting out just the noise. It was about 300 miles all the way home, it only did it at that speed and RPM. My Dad says today he can make it do it at any time. Not exactly what you want to happen to your brand new vehicle. Listen to attached video. Never mind the clicking sound in the beginning, there is a bobble head making that noise, it is the grinding knocking sound. I personally own a 2016 Durango R/T and this sound the Journey is making sounds like when my backup system stops my Durango somewhat. Here is a link to the video of the vehicle making the noise.

Hi tripndrag,

Sorry to hear about this! If you decide to visit your local dealership for further diagnosis I'd be happy to follow up with them for you if needed. Just PM our page with your VIN and let me know.

My parents finally got the vehicle into a dealer. It was the exhaust hitting the frame. They have driven it a few times since it was fixed and the noise isn't there any longer.
